The Shakespeare Starfire model dates back to the late 1960's. Production stopped in 1974 when it was replaced by a new 17 foot inboard model. This was based on the outboard version which was called the Caribbean. The boat was a slow seller at the time because it was very expensive compared to the outboard and it was a bit too small for a heavy stern drive engine. |
